Self-sufficient energy

Market assessment, Partner presentations

The company

In addition to the fundamental needs of people - nutrition, hygiene, security - are the needs for communication and for light. Since the first wind-up radio was produced in February 1996, this company's story has been one of pioneering and developing technology to serve the needs of humankind from all walks of life.

The awareness and demand for self-sufficient technology is continuing to increase, and the company is committed to being a driving force in the development of this technology.

The products and services

The company's products give freedom and independence from traditional power sources. The self-sufficient energy technology combines wind-up, solar and rechargeable power into unique, portable, consumer electronic products replacing conventional battery-powered systems that are wasteful and costly.

The objectives

Germany, Benelux, Spain and even Eastern Europe often prove for English speaking firms easier markets than France to crack. There are many theories for this but one thing is for sure using a local French business can significantly accelerate successful business development in France. Such was the experience of this company.

IBT services

Since 1998, this global company had tried unsuccessfully to develop its business in France. Back in 2003, IBT Partners Client Managers started working on a new business model for France while also conducting an in-depth market analysis.

Based upon the findings and the business requirements of this company, IBT Partners identified, short listed and communicated with distributors covering the pre-determined sectors, as well as all of geographic France. Subsequent meetings, on site and in the IBT Partners offices in central Paris, ensured a union of commercial objectives and culture, between the company and the selected distributors. An agreement was negotiated and as a result of IBT Partners’ services it now records significant sales in France.

"IBT Partners conducted an important market research for us, enabling to gain a better understanding of French trade channels and structure, the routes to market and competitors' pricing strategies. IBT Partners then assisted us to identify distributors, analyse, short list and eventually appoint one who fits our business model. We are now represented in the French market"
